Some of this overly hostile talk coming from my fellow subscribers is very disheartening. I think it's making the opinions look weak.
CCP, please don't think that just because a few (Ok a lot) of us are rude 12 year old boys that the emotion and the opinions coming out of it are any less valid.
My feelings have been summerised enough in this forum for me to not make a wall-o-text.
To put it simply MT for anything other than vanity will destroy any sense of fun I could have in this game. It is not just that I'm too cheap to pay for standings or a better ship or more corp fittings. Its that every time I do something like grind a mission, pvp or share a fit I'll think 'Well, what was the point of all that work when I could have just thrown money at the situation instead.'
CCP Soundwave made an analogy with golf. I have to disagree with it for two reasons.
First is that we don't actually own our AUR bought ships, as we do with our very expensive 9 iron. If we decide to get out of golf we can sell our things on ebay and recoup some cost. Trading eve things (Even things BOUGHT with real money) for real money is obviously against the EULA.
Secondly golf is not played as an all encompassing almost organic world. You play against a few people, often around your skill level and often friends. In EVE you play against everyone. Pro, noob, everyone. When I play golf it doesn't matter to me what some kid in California is rocking, I don't play with him. In eve we are forced to all play together and and when one rich person can buy an advantage that hurts me. Its true that some players are already at an advangate in terms of having extra time but the plex system sorts that out rather nicely. Please don't take away the balance that eve has so miraculously developed over the years.
The rest of the patch I actually like. That might just make me unique.
If anyone at CCP reads this, thank you for listening. Now please take some of our feelings to heart.
